Web.com said Wednesday that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held domain name registrar Network Solutions, to capitalize on a shift by small and medium businesses from traditional marketing channels to online marketing.
Web.com, Web Design and Online Marketing Company, is in process to buy register.com for $135 Million. According th AP, Register.com has 800,000 paying subscribers and the combined company, Web.com plus Register.com, will have about 1 million subscribers. The deal will cut $10 million in the cost.
