The Planet, a privately held dedicated hosting company, today announced sweeping changes to its server fleet with the addition of free services bundled with every new server purchase. The company states that across the board, customers now benefit from a free control panel, free antivirus software and 10GB of free Cloud Storage on every server leased from it.

It further states that the bundle includes Symantec Endpoint Protection - business-class antivirus software - along with Storage Cloud, its robust cloud storage solution. Customers can also choose from either Parallels Plesk Panel or cPanel/WebHost Manager (WHM) for their hosting environments, adds the company.

"As more companies adopt hosting for their IT infrastructures, we've seen that they often choose not to invest in additional security and storage to protect their servers," said Rob Walters, Director of product management with The Planet. "We have a vested interest in ensuring our customers are protected, so we're providing these services at no charge on every server from The Planet. Coupled with their choice of control panels, again at no charge, we're delivering even more value."
