Intel and Sony are rumoured to have partnered with Google to launch TV Service through its Android Operating System. In what seems like a fantastic move from Google, exact details have not been released as of yet.

A source also states that Microsoft and Apple.com are also working on their operating systems for TV. Apple.com, in particular, could do very well here, especially if it finds a way to leverage its extensive iPhone application store for televisions.
It further establishes that TV is moving more and more to the Web. The biggest success story being YouTube.com which is already owned by Google. Streaming through the TV set is just a matter of time and Google is eager to get a big slice of that market.
