Liquid Web Inc. has opened a software development office in Scottsdale, Ariz. The Web hosting company has three other locations in Delta Township.
Liquid Web opened the Scottsdale office to better serve customers near the West Coast, which is a growth area for the company, spokesman Travis Stoliker said. The office employs eight software development engineers. The company plans to add seven or more by the end of the year. In all, Liquid Web has 200 employees and hopes to hire five to 10 more each month through the end of the year.
The company also recently launched a new feature to its "Storm On Demand" cloud hosting platform. The product, called "Storm Bare Metal," provides clients with a private dedicated server with cloud computing features. Cloud computing is a new technology for Web hosting and server management. Customers pay on a "utility-cost basis," or only for what they use. Customers also can temporarily boost their server space to deal with high-volume traffic to their websites.
