Systems management solutions provider Qwest has enhanced its business continuity and disaster recovery portfolio with the launch of Qwest Real-Time Application Recovery, a new cloud-based service that keeps business operations running uninterrupted in the event of a system failure for lower price than conventional backup solutions.
According to Qwest’s Thursday announcement, Qwest Real-Time Application Recovery gives customers immediate and secure access to their email, file and database server content in the event of a server or network disruption. Further, the solution is fully automated and requires no intervention on the part of the user or customer IT staff.
Qwest Real-Time Application Recovery is the product of a partnership with Recovery-as-a-Service provider Geminare. “By combining Qwest powerful CyberCenter capabilities with Geminare’s continuity solution, we’re delivering a complete enterprise-grade solution,” Qwest product management vice president Eric Bozich said in a statement. “This cloud-based offering continues to enhance our portfolio with solutions that are attractive to the smaller-size company, yet robust enough for the largest corporation.”
The cloud-based solution protects popular applications including email and databases, with no capital investment and no on-site hardware is require because data is fully managed in a Qwest CyberCenter facility. Qwest Real-Time Application Recovery additionally offers true visibility into the protection and disaster recovery status with frequent, detailed, and non-disruptive health checks.
