Happy Webmasters Day Says Go Daddy

Godaddy.com has declared today, April 29, Webmaster Holiday and has created some online tributes.

Today, people from all over the world can show appreciation for the hard work their Webmasters deliver day in and day out.

From articles to blogs, the holiday is picking up steam as a recognized holiday and the general consensus is it’s been a long time coming.

"The Internet wouldn't be where it is today without this underappreciated group who keep content on the ‘net fresh," GoDaddy.com CEO and Founder Bob Parsons said. “We hope the holiday will inspire gratitude for Webmasters around the world."

According to IDC, two-thirds of small to medium sized business employ their Webmaster in-house. The idea for the 'official' holiday is to honor Webmasters' contributions, whether they design the site, take care of the servers, or do it all.

"We think it is great organizations like GoDaddy.com are recognizing Webmasters for the true professionals they are," said Bill Cullifer, Executive Director, World Organization of Webmasters. "Webmasters serve their customers with a broad skill set, including strong technical, design, business and project management skills, and they play a pivotal role in any organization's structure today."

There are a number of ways you can pay tribute to your Webmaster tomorrow. Bake them a cake, take them to dinner or send them an e-card.

Anyone can go to www.godaddy.com/webmasterday and select a card to send to the person responsible for their Web site. Once you select your card, it will be automatically delivered. There is no cost, nor obligation.
