UK2 Acquires WestHost.com

British web hosting company, and high bandwidth dedicated hosting provider, UK-2 Group, has acquired Utah-based WestHost.com, completing its program of growth-by-acquisition in the US Hosting Market.

Ditlev Bredahl of UK2 noted, ''I've followed WestHost for years, and I have always been impressed with their quality of service, respect for their clients and great offerings. I want to assure all WestHost clients that they are not going to see any changes in that kind of personal service. We're keeping the data center in Utah open, because a local presence is important, and we're keeping the excellent staff there.''

UK2 Group will continue to operate WestHost's data center in Salt Lake City, as well as offices in Logan, UT, and will maintain WestHost's high levels of personal service by retaining all key personnel.

UK2.net, flagship member of the UK2 Group family of companies, has operated successfully for 10 years. In that time it has sold over one million domain names and currently hosts hundreds of thousands of Web domains.

In December, 2007, UK2 Group began a program of growth-by-acquistion in the US market by acquiring Midphase.com. WestHost is the final acquisition of that program. The company says its focus now will be on optimizing all its hosting operations and strengthening its position in the market.
